Adult Day Program

The Adult Day Program is hosted by the nursing staff and volunteers at The Salvation Army Centre of Hope and provides a safe and comfortable atmosphere for disabled, chronically ill, or isolated 50+ adults and seniors who are lacking support systems in their lives.

Christmas

Be Part of the Miracle during this Time of Giving. The Salvation Army is blessed to share ‘hope’ with people every day.  This comes through providing food, clothing, a listening ear, an encouraging word, a warm bed, a safe place, healing, stability and support to find a place to call home!

Crisis Response

When a crisis hits the community, The Salvation Army responds quickly. One way that The Salvation Army assists is with the Community Response Vehicles. These kitchens-on-wheels are dispatched to the designated locations or reception centres with teams of trained Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) volunteers who immediately set up food and support services alongside other agencies.

Emergency Shelter

The Shelter within The Centre of Hope on Gladys Avenue has rooms for both men and women which are conveniently situated around a comfortable, common area. Up to twenty six beds are available each night of the year.   In *Extreme Weather, we can accommodate an additional 20 – 30 individuals.

Outreach & Family Services

The Salvation Army Outreach Team is committed to creating life transforming opportunities. Poverty, homelessness, addictions and mental health challenges are harsh realities for many in our community. From our office or under the overpasses, our Outreach Team comes alongside those living in difficult circumstances, offering hope and the support necessary to equip individuals to overcome the challenges that stand in their way.

Redemption Cafe

Redemption Café is a social hub connecting of a wide variety of programs offered at The Salvation Army’s Centre of Hope. Salvation Army volunteers make sure the coffee is always on and a listening ear is always available. Open from 8:30. to 11:00 a.m., Monday to Friday, the Café provides breakfast free of charge in a safe, clean environment.

Supported Independent Living

The Salvation Army’s SIL program, at the Centre of Hope in Abbotsford, has been designed to provide safe, affordable, secure housing for men. Residents accepted into the program may stay up to 2 years and are part of community living in one of three pods (single room with shared kitchen and bathroom). The residents come from all spectrums of society.

The Meal Centre

The Meal Centre provides 300 nutritious meals per day seven days a week to anyone that is hungry. Our program for feeding the hungry is strongly supported by local businesses that donate so much of the food, and it is heavily dependent on the volunteers who willingly sacrifice their time.

Pantry34 Program

The goal of The Salvation Army’s Pantry34 program is to ensure that all youth in Abbotsford have access to healthy, nutritious snacks and beverages at any time of the school day, distributed at the teacher’s discretion, as part of their normal school routine.

Family Thrift Store

The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store provides a way for to give hope to those in need by looking in your closets, your homes, and your hearts and donating today, help us make a difference in someone else’s life tomorrow! Funds generated go to support The Salvation Army – Cascade Community Ministry in Abbotsford and Mission.
